Inspiration. Breathe life into it!

I want to write about faith,
about the way the moon rises
over cold snow, night after night,

faithful even as it fades from fullness,
slowly becoming that last curving and impossible
sliver of light before the final darkness.

But I have no faith myself
I refuse it even the smallest entry.

Let this then, my small poem,
like a new moon, slender and barely open,

be the first prayer that opens me

to faith.

-- David Whyte

I love this poem.  It is so honest and spacious.  It is as if the declaration    opens us to the light within the unknown.  It is a new year, a new decade, and for us in Salt Lake City, simply not enough fresh air to breathe.  It becomes easy to loose faith or Shraddah.  Easy to disconnect to what we hold dear and sweet and sacred within our hearts.  We might loose momentum and the endurance to weather the long strand of gray days and distant sun.

Yesterday I got out to climb and sweat and breath deeply... to reconnect to fragrance and sunlight and the beauty of winter.  On the trail I encountered three other fellow yogis, all seeking the same freedom to breathe.  Inspiration.

Yes!  I was inspired.  Yogis in the art of living sadhana, breathing life into movement, challenge, and peace.  So it got me thinking about a few other inspirations to warm our hearts, reconnect us to what we love, or breathe life into something new all together!

Let this then, my small poem,
like a new moon, slender and barely open,
be the first prayer that opens me to faith.

Erica and The Rose Unfolding:

Smog or snow, this yogi wakes up early, daily, to invest in her dream: A high vibrational- community oriented- eclectic coffee+tea... the-place-to-be-establishment.

Her love for tea, sacred space, and community invested in what is possible, along with a many year dedication to asana, life, and love, are some of her inspirations.  She has re-dawned life into this dream, again and again!

She has held the "last curving and impossible sliver of light" in her own hands and still created possibility. From contracts to the removal of toxic waste, it's all in a days work for Erica, and she still shows up to practice.   Om Namaha Shivaya!  http://www.theroseest.com/

Inspired girl!  Living her practice!

And she gets by with a little help from her friends!

Angela:

Yogini, artist, student (pursuing second degree BFA), photographer (she is the resident photographer of The Yoga Soul), web designer, Soul Rebel, and my neighbor!  Anj came into my life and the sun did shine!  She is one of those artists, that continually dips her fingers and toes in the inspiration of life.  And when that just isn't enough, well, she dives right in and something awe inspiring results!  The fruits of her action... unique, therapeutic and full of Rasa!  http://www.angelarumel.com/

Sabrena and The Suite Spot - http://suitespots.blogspot.com/

I  met Sabrena as a first-time-yogini-looking to write an article about it.  Sabrena is a talented writer, inspiring blogger, (actually the first blog I officially followed), former corporate world hottie, yoga instructor, political junkie, and one of the best cheerleaders of life I've ever known.  She has transformed the way I view motherhood!  Yep, she has managed to make it look cool, humorous, and totally inspiring.

What does she breathe life into?  Family, humor, day to day moments of OM and embracing life rain or shine.  Well... let me let her tell you in her own words: "Holden's (baby wearing-attachment parenting-cloth diapering-ECing-milk making) hippie Mommy. Supposed Cougar complex (my husband's 6 years my junior, but I'm too post-preggers plump for the real label).  Lover of Warhol, Zeppelin, Writing and Travel."  Look Sabrena up!  You will be moved, elated, and inspired!

And one or two more images to inspire you to breathe life into what you are committed to!

Post asana glow... always inspires me... a few students that agree! Speaking of practice... music that I am totally into lately:
